Animated extension of the illustration project
光れない星
This animated extension of “光れない星” develops the original illustration into motion, keeping the same concept while letting the timing and transitions heighten the emotional pressure within the scene.
The animation was made using Procreate Dreams. Besides the addition of motion, the project follows the same core idea as the illustration version: a small spark stands for emerging talent, while the surrounding eyes, flames, and reaching hands represent the weight of social expectations, ambition, and burnout.

Concept
From still image to motion
The animation keeps the original concept intact while using movement to intensify the feeling of attention, fragility, and pressure.
“光れない星” explores how social expectations and pressure can suppress emerging talent through the theme of “Nova,” the birth of a new star. In this animation, a small spark symbolizes the moment when new ideas or talents begin to appear.
Surrounding the spark are large stars with searching eyes, representing society and its constant gaze toward success and achievement. At the bottom of the scene, hands reaching through flames symbolize ambition and the desire for recognition, while the flames suggest the risks and burnout that often accompany intense competition.
As the eyes of the larger stars focus on the small spark, it gradually fades before it can grow into a star. This moment reflects how excessive expectations and social pressure can extinguish potential before it has the chance to fully develop.
Through this work, I emphasize the importance of creating supportive environments where new talents can grow and shine.
